The diameter of the main part of the probe is 4 mm, the tip (length 20 mm) is thinned 2.7 mm. This simplifies immersion in the measured medium (soil, meat, fish, vegetables, etc.), and also reduces the thermal inertia during measurement.
The plastic protective cap eliminates the possibility of accidental scratches from the tip of the probe.
On the back of the case there is a hole for hanging the thermometer on the head of a nail or screw. Thus, during storage, it can be used as a normal room thermometer to measure the air temperature (the current consumption of the battery is scanty, it lasts for a long time).
