Soldering iron with thyristor power regulator built into the stand body.

There is no temperature sensor, and, accordingly, there is no controller feedback on temperature, therefore this controller is not a thermostat. However, the ability to adjust the power allows you to control the temperature of the tip, avoiding overheating, thereby maintaining the required temperature regime for soldering.
Power limiting also helps extend heater and tip life by reducing fading of the protective chrome finish.

Temperature control range from 200°C to 480°C.

On the left side of the case is the power key. A neon lamp is mounted in the handle of the soldering iron, indicating that the soldering iron is turned on.

By changing the brightness of the light bulb, one can judge the degree of temperature adjustment of the soldering iron.

Sting - pin, diameter 6 mm.

Fixing the tip in the heater with a clamping screw.

The tip is durable, coated. Tapered tip.

Although this design is somewhat archaic, its indisputable advantage is its simplicity and availability of stings.
When working with active acid-containing fluxes, it is not economically feasible to use burning tips with a durable chrome-plated coating, they will quickly burn out under the influence of acid components. In this case, it is better to use ordinary copper tips without coating.
